The Power of Music
Music is powerful in many ways. It helps to activate our social safety system, stimulate our whole brain all at once, and acts as a social glue to help us connect with others and our environment. Harmony uses music sessions to increase levels of happiness, joy and social community for its clients and the musicians that volunteer to share their music.
Harmony's Music Program
Harmony's music program was started in 2009 when founder, Tressie Seegers founded the program. As a musician, Tressie knows firsthand the positive effects music can have on our overall sense of wellbeing or "mind health." Tressie and volunteer musicians love to engage Harmony clients with classic sing-a-long songs, original music and song games. The positive effects can be long-lasting and uplifting for both the musicians and clients.
